Moonshine Everclear Apple Pie

IMG_20131214_223748I made my newest batch of Apple Pie in preparation for Eelpout Festival in February.  This should give it a couple months to really mellow out.  I ventured out a little from my normal recipe and added a little extra kick.  This time around, in a edition to the Liter of 191 Everclear I use, I also used a a Liter of Whipped Cream Vodka.  Here is the complete recipe

1 Gallon Spiced Apple Cider

1 Gallon Apple Juice

1 Container Cinnamon sticks (buy a extra container because you are always a couple short)

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar (The more sugar you use obviously will make it sweeter, but you need that sweetness to cut the burn of the booze)

2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Pie Spice

1 Bottle 191 Grain Alcohol Everclear

1 bottle of Whipped Cream Vodka

Instructions:

Mix all of the ingredients (except for the booze and the second container of cinnamon sticks)  into a large pot and bring it to a light boil.  You will need a big pot as this will be around 3 gallons.  Once it is heated up, shut it down and let the mix cool.  Never add the booze until it is cool or the booze will burn off.

Once it is cool, mix in the booze and stir.   The next step is bottling.  I use Quart Mason jars.  I fill them up to the top and add one of the cinnamon sticks from the pot into the jar.  This is where the extra sticks come in handy, you will always be a couple short.  Once they are all bottled, let them sit for a couple months.  The longer you let it sit, the less boozy it will taste.  Enjoy!

on it. Incredibly smart. I’m going to be cooking this for my partner in a few days
and I’ll report back on how I get on. Many thanks for the
    awesome suggestion!
