I love tracking down all these different coffee beers. I like seeing everyones different take on them. Wether it is a Golden Ale, Brown Ale, Stout, don’t care, love em! I have yet to meet a Coffee Beer I didn’t like!
Today I went back to a beer that I have been a fan of, the Coffee Bender Brown Ale by Surly. This is a solid beer. Typically with Coffee Beers, I can drink them and have no problem getting to sleep. But I drank 2 last night from the time I got home from work and the time I went to bed and at the normal time my eyelids are typically overwhelmingly heavy, I was wide awake and alert! Odd Twist!
Usually with these Coffee Beers, there is subtle hints of chocolate or some other flavor. With this beer, Coffee is the main star of this beer! It is a bold in your face flavor and I love it! It is rich and full of flavor! The smells are just as bold and awesome when you open the can! Chill one of these today and enjoy!
I would recommend not drinking it after 5 if you have a early bedtime! But for sure try it if you a re a coffee lover!

I have yet to try a coffee beer. Maybe it’s time. But not after say 2 p.m. for me.

Are you into the bourbon barrel stouts? Some even have coffee. Ten Fidy from Oskar Blues is one I tried recently.
