A note to all Craft Brewers out there, if you have a crazy name for your beer or a crazy looking can, I am way more likely to pick it up off the shelf and give it a whirl. Enter Even More Coco Jesus Imperial Stout with Maple and Coconut made by Evil Twin Brewing.
It is a good beer. Super rich, but good! It kinda tastes like drinking a Mounds Bar. So if you like Mounds Bars, you are totally in luck! I dig it, but it is not a beer you sit down and drink a ton of. I like to make Cupcakes with Stouts and Porters and this one works awesome! It gives a extra richness to the cake!
It has the sweetness from the Maple and the Coconut and has a light coffee and chocolate flavor. This is a perfect beer ice cold maybe served after a meal! A sweet Dessert beer! If that is a thing!
I bought a couple different beers from them and I am stoked to give them a whirl as well.
I would definitely try this beer. And I’m with you on naming beers. It’s a marketing ploy, for sure. But names matter to this wordsmith. Naming a beer gives the brewer an opportunity to make the beer something we will remember. There’s the opportunity, too, to connect to place, history and more. Name those beers. I’m with you 100 percent on this one. You grow a brand this way.
Two of my favorite names come from Lift Bridge in Stillwater. Those are Hop Dish and Farm Girl. I love those beers. And I even have a Farm Girl glass, given to me when I bought some of that beer locally quite awhile go. You can bet this farm girl drinks her beer from that glass.
