I love Salmon, and I love grilled / smoked Salmon so I was excited to incorporate my newest grilling trick to one of my favorite fish! Pretty Simple, here is what you need
1 1/2 Lbs of Salmon
1/4 Cup of Honey
1/3 Cup of Orange Juice
1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
1 Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
7 Lemons
Handfull of Wood pellets
Combine all of the ingredients except for the Salmon and the Lemons. Lay the Salmon Filets Skin side down in a glass pan and pour the marinade over the top of the fish and place in the fridge for about a hour. While the fish is cooling and marinating, go ahead and get the grill going
and slice your lemons about 1/4″ a piece.
Once the grill is going, go ahead and lay your lemons overlapping on the indirect heat side of the grill.
Place the Salmon on top of the lemons skin side down and place the cover on the grill.
Give it about 15 minutes or so and go throw your handful of wood pellets into the hot coals to give your fish some heavy smoke at the end. It gives it a great smokey flavor.
After about 5 minutes sitting in the smoke, your fish should be ready. Take a fork and it should flake easily! Remove it from the lemons and enjoy!
I will definitely need to try this! Have you ever grilled salmon using a cedar plank? I’ve been doing that a lot this summer.
