What a Bitter Sweet Day. It was the final appearance of the Vans Warped tour in Minnesota at Canterbury Downs in Shakopee. The Vans Warped Tour has always had a different feel from all the other Music Festivals. When you go to other shows, you can feel that the bottom line is making a profit. At the Warped Tour, there is still a ton of merchandising, don’t get me wrong, but it is a way more fan and band interactive experience. It seems a lot more about the music.
You can meet any band you like. They all have their own little tent selling their swag and a meet up spot for them after their show! We only took advantage of meeting one band. We waited for Less Than Jake. I have always been a big fan and it was sweet to meet them! I also grabbed myself a really cool autographed Reel Big Fish Poster.
The temp was only 83, but they had the show on a blacktopped parking lot, so it felt more like 100 degrees out. But, seeing Motionless in White, As It Is, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Simple Plan and a bunch other real sweet bands made it all worth it!
I wish they would of had a better food selection, but what do you do? Sad it was my last Warped Tour, but so happy and grateful that I was able to take part of it! I also really love shows that are only like 15 miles from home!
Good to catch up on some of your recent posts. I was busy moving my site over to wordpress.org. Not had time to blog but hopefully you’ll find them posted from a slightly different medium. I’ll likely delete the other account at some point. Greetings from Germany.
