This might of been the 1st opener win I can remember being at and we go to most of them! It’s not about the Win (even though that helps)! It’s about being outside at the ballpark with friends, a fresh season, a clean start, cold beer and new food!
We will start with the beer. Nothing really new. The classics were all there and cold. It seems like they added a couple new craft beer stands, but didn’t add a bunch of new beers.
The food was 50/50 for the 2 things i got. 1st up was the Peanut Butter and Jelly and Bacon sandwich.
Aside fron them robbing you for $10 for a PB&J and the little amount of jelly used, it wasn’t to bad. My second item I got was the Chicken and Waffle Cone. Very underwhelming. Chicken fingers were OK but overall it was pretty forgetable.
The game was solid! We won, the weather was bitchin, Barrios set a home opener record with 10 strike outs and it might of been the quickest game I have ever attended.
If the opener is any indication of how the season will go, I am optomistic for 2019!
That’s one expensive PB & J even with the bonus bacon. I had a home grilled burger this weekend with PB & J, bacon and pepperjack cheese. One of my favorite burgers. And I only started eating burgers again a few years ago. Otherwise I didn’t touch them for decades. Too many memories of hockey puck burgers fried by my mom when I was growing up. That’s my food, not my baseball, story.
